Is it confusing to understand to what is a bad belief to subscribe to verse what a tool for me to grow closer is? For me, since the beginning this has posed an interesting challenge. When I first started approaching God through his Torah, I was committed to not seeing things as a contradiction. Playing basketball, I assured myself, was not a contradiction to being an ‘Orthodox’ Jew. I was not used to experiencing how it felt to have an identity crisis. In Yeshiva, it felt people who once enjoyed playing some sports, would rush off after a quick game.
